Greenpoint Cheese + Meat is now open!

There’s plenty happening in Greenpoint’s food and drink scene right now. Here’s a few things you should know about:

NOW OPEN: Greenpoint Cheese + Meat
Greenpoint Cheese + Meat softly opened their doors last week. We will have full coverage of all their tasty wares soon but in the meantime you should pop in and check out their delicious meats and cheeses for yourself (not to mention the fresh loaves from Bakeri)!
The store is at 192 Driggs Ave and is currently open from 12-7pm Tuesday-Sunday (though these times are likely to change in the coming weeks…we will keep you updated).

Polska Ksiegarnia Bookstore to be replaced by a Xi'an Famous Foods

IN THE PIPELINE: Xi’an Famous Foods coming to Manhattan Avenue
The times they are a-changin’. Polska Ksiegarnia bookstore at 648 Manhattan avenue has closed down and the space has been taken over by the team behind cheap eats chain Xi’an Famous Foods. The menu will be the same as their other outlets so expect hand-pulled noodle dishes for around $6, Spicy Cumin Lamb Burgers (beloved of Anthony Bourdain) for $3.50 and their signature Spicy and Tingly Lamb Face Salad for $10.There is no set opening date as yet but they tell us they aim to open sometime this summer, which should mean their proposed outdoor eating area will be an instant hit.

THIS WEEK: Transmitter Brewery Launch Party at Brouwerij Lane
This Thursday 05/29 between 7-10pm , Transmitter Brewing of Long Island City will be launching their freshly brewed suds at Brouwerij Lane (78 Greenpoint Ave). There’ll be tastings, beer on tap and bottles to purchase for later. And if you really dig their brews you can even join their awesome beer CSA!!
